I'm a freshman currently, at UC Merced. I went from wanting to be a Neurosurgeon to a Theoretical Particle Physicist thanks to an amazing astronomy professor I had at my local community college while in high school, that got tired of me coming in to office hours asking questions about electrons and photons that were way beyond what Astronomy 100 covers and threw a book at me about elementary particles...

...And so here I am! And wondering where "here" is and how to get from this "here" to that "there" that is supposed to be a theorist in particle physics. Hoping to learn more, tad bit frustrated that I can't seem to run into another person with either the same interest, or an interest in helping me cultivate my curiosity... But it's the beginning, gotta keep that optimism around for as long as possible!
